In Part 2 of Nureki Chimuo’s Talking Theater, Nureki continues his deeply personal exploration of kinbaku as erotic practice, visual language, and lived experience. Moving between memory, observation, humor, and provocation, he reflects on the emotions and fantasies that give rope its meaning beyond technique, offering readers another glimpse into the restless, opinionated mind of one of modern kinbaku’s most influential voices.

The publication of Nureki Chimuo’s Talking Theater in English now has a new home on Kinbaku Today.

Alongside these individual volume posts, we have launched the Nureki Chimuo Archive, a dedicated research archive that brings together the translated installments of Talking Theater as individual, searchable entries. The archive currently includes material from Volumes 1 through 4, preserving the original sequence, publication dates where available, source information, and translator and editor credits.

This makes it possible to move beyond reading the work only volume by volume. Readers can now search across Nureki’s essays, filter the archive by source and date, and open individual installments directly. For researchers, it also provides a much easier way to trace recurring subjects across the series, including bondage aesthetics, magazine history, photography, performance, theater, SM culture, personal reminiscence, and Nureki’s reflections on his own long career.

The archive is intended to grow as additional primary-source material is prepared and added to the Kinbaku Research Platform.
