Summary
The August 1966 installment of Beautiful Bondage is a highly specialized photographic volume devoted to what its cover calls a Western-style special feature on female punishment and torture. The principal title, 牢具に拘束される女, can be rendered Women Bound in Instruments or Women Restrained by Prison Devices. In contrast to earlier Beautiful Bondage collections centered primarily on rope, this issue foregrounds manufactured apparatus: leather straps, belts, collars, cuffs, chains, restraint boards, harnesses, masks, gags, and chair-like devices. The result is a striking shift from Japanese rope aesthetics toward a deliberately modern, quasi-penal visual vocabulary.

Highlights
- The cover announces a Western-style special feature on female punishment and torture and titles the portfolio Women Bound in Instruments, visually introducing a model held with leather wrist restraints, chains, and body belts. (PDF p. 1).
- The opening sequence presents several forms of rigid and semi-rigid apparatus restraint, including arms spread by chained leather cuffs and a woman fastened lengthwise to a narrow wooden bench by multiple belts and chains. (PDF pp. 1–4).
- A distinctive early sequence introduces a glossy black hood and pelvic restraint combined with handcuffs, shifting the visual emphasis from simple immobilization toward anonymity, sensory restriction, and fetishized leather equipment. (PDF pp. 5, 13–15).
- The principal harness sequence uses a complex system of horizontal chest belts, a vertical central strap, neck restraint, gag, handcuffs, and leg belts, photographed from standing, kneeling, reclining, front, rear, and side views. (PDF pp. 6–7, 16–21).
- A chair-restraint sequence combines collar, torso belts, wrist restraints, ankle restraints, and attached mechanical controls, with additional photographs showing an unseen operator manipulating the restrained woman's face and mouth. (PDF pp. 8–12).
- Another bench sequence employs broad leather straps around the torso, waist, wrists, and thighs together with an elaborate gag, while a handgun appears as a theatrical punishment prop. (PDF pp. 22–23).
- The later portfolio introduces a second harness design made from lighter-colored straps, photographed in a tatami room and emphasizing chest compression, rear arm restraint, gagging, and the construction of the harness from multiple viewpoints. (PDF pp. 24–26, 28–31).
- A short chain-restraint study links collar, wrists, waist, and ankles while leaving most of the torso unobstructed, contrasting sharply with the densely strapped harnesses elsewhere in the issue. (PDF pp. 27, 30–31).
- The final page combines two images of a nude model wearing a broad leather gag and metal restraints with the Tenseisya imprint, the series shorthand 美9, a statement that the publication is not sold through bookstores, and a limited-edition price of 1,000 yen. (PDF p. 32).
