Summary

The June 1965 installment of Beautiful Bondage is identified on its cover as the eighth collection in the limited-edition 美しき縛しめ series. Its principal cover title, 女斗緊縛競艶場面写真集, presents the volume as a photographic collection of women competing in scenes of bondage and erotic display. Three women are named on the cover: Yamahara Kiyoko, Suzuko Akiko, and Ōtsuka Keiko. Unlike conventional SM magazines, the publication contains virtually no prose. Its editorial structure is entirely photographic, using sequential images to construct encounters in which women restrain, manipulate, overpower, and pose one another.

The first extended sequence takes place in a Japanese room with shōji screens and a patterned carpet. One woman binds another around the upper torso and arms, pulls and adjusts the ropes, forces her into kneeling and floor positions, and physically controls her head, shoulders, legs, and posture. The photographer frequently records intermediate actions rather than merely finished bondage positions. Rope is therefore shown as something actively handled, tightened, redirected, and used to control movement. The photographs repeatedly juxtapose the standing or kneeling active woman with the restrained woman’s compressed, twisted, or reclining body.

A second sequence develops the same premise with a woman dressed in a dark slip controlling another model. These pages place greater emphasis on facial manipulation, hair pulling, head positioning, torso restraint, and changes in the bound woman’s orientation. Subsequent sequences introduce another pairing, including a model with conspicuous decorative markings across the shoulder, back, hips, and thighs. Rope restraint becomes progressively combined with leg manipulation, prone and side-lying positions, and direct bodily control by the second woman.

The later portion loosens the distinction between bondage photography and staged female struggle. Several pages show grappling, pinning, twisting of arms and legs, mounting, hair control, and other forms of physical domination with little or no rope. The portfolio then returns to rope, garments, and kneeling restraint before closing with another intimate floor tableau. The final page carries the Tenseisya imprint from Abeno, Osaka, repeats the statement that the publication is not sold through bookstores, and gives the limited-edition price as 1,000 yen. As a historical artifact, this volume is distinctive within Beautiful Bondage because it makes female-to-female domination and the process of binding itself the central spectacle, rather than presenting the bound woman as an isolated photographic subject.

Highlights

  • The cover identifies the publication as the eighth Beautiful Bondage limited-edition photo collection and prominently names Yamahara Kiyoko, Suzuko Akiko, and Ōtsuka Keiko. Its title frames the issue around women competing in scenes of bondage and erotic display. (PDF p. 1).
  • The opening sequence establishes the issue's unusual female-to-female format, showing one woman actively restraining another with rope while also using her hands, knees, and body weight to control the bound woman's posture. (PDF pp. 1–7).
  • Rather than showing only completed ties, numerous photographs document rope being pulled, adjusted, tightened, and redirected during the scene, making the process of binding itself an important visual subject. (PDF pp. 3–7, 13–23).
  • A second extended sequence introduces a woman in a dark slip controlling a restrained model through torso bondage, hair pulling, facial manipulation, forced kneeling, and changes of body position. (PDF pp. 8–15).
  • The middle portion features a model with conspicuous decorative markings across the shoulders, back, hips, and thighs, creating a strong visual contrast between patterned skin, rope, underwear, and the geometry of the body. (PDF pp. 15–23).
  • The later pages temporarily move away from rope toward direct female grappling, including pins, leg manipulation, arm control, mounting, hair pulling, and other staged forms of physical dominance. (PDF pp. 24–27).
  • The final sequence returns to restraint and clothing manipulation, showing renewed upper-body bondage and kneeling poses before ending with a close floor tableau between two women. (PDF pp. 28–32).
  • The final page identifies Tenseisya of Abeno, Osaka as publisher, states that the publication is not sold through bookstores, and gives the limited-edition price as 1,000 yen. (PDF p. 32).
