A Reply to Kana-san

カナさんへのお返事

To Kana-san, who sent me an email.

Thank you very much. It was a wonderful letter. I’ll try to explain what I liked about it below.

Thanks to having worked in this unique field for so long, I receive letters from many women, in various forms and on a wide range of topics.

Each one is a heartfelt, sincere email, sometimes filled with a tension so intense it’s almost suffocating.

The letter I received from Kana-san this time gently and warmly wrapped my heart in warmth.

First, I’d like to thank Hiromi Saotome, who chose you as a model for my event this time.

She really introduced me to a wonderful model.

I’ve known Saotome-san for a long, long, long time. She’s a kindred spirit who knows my feelings and preferences well, so I’m sure that’s why she chose someone like you, an ideal model for my event.

At this gathering, Saotome-san was the first to serve as a model, and as you watched her, you wrote in your email, “...there was something utterly mesmerizing about seeing Saotome-san, dressed in her everyday clothes, being tied up.”

That’s exactly it, that’s precisely the point, the secret message behind my gatherings…

It is precisely because I bind women in the very everyday clothes they wear, clothes that fit them perfectly and have become as natural to them as their own skin, that my rope comes alive and breathes.

What I’ve never quite understood is when, during promotional SM video shoots or photo sessions, staff go out of their way to dress models in brand-new panties or bras they’ve prepared, forcing them into outfits that the staff alone believe are sensational.

When I’m working with models like that, I feel a sense of emptiness, as if I’m tying up a doll rather than a human being.

In other words, it feels like I’m tying up a doll that has lost its body heat, its natural scent, and its pulse. A doll that has lost its soul.

(Unless, of course, there’s some specific fetishistic significance to the outfits they went out of their way to have the model change into.)

There isn’t necessarily any particular fetishistic effect involved. In commercial SM, it’s almost always just a routine, pre-shoot procedure.

The other day, when we were working on the photo book “The Sunset Room,” created by our close-knit group Tomoshibi, we all agreed to photograph Saotome-san exactly as she was, wearing the everyday clothes she normally wears.

So when I read in your email that “seeing Saotome-san tied up in her everyday clothes left me in a state of bliss,” I felt as if you had read my mind, and not just me, but all of us in Tomoshibi are delighted.

While I’m at it, let me add that what I simply cannot bring myself to like are women wearing those stereotypical bondage-style outfits. Those truly disappoint me from the bottom of my heart.

Since those outfits are a kind of signboard for business purposes, I suppose they’re effective to some extent in appealing to the general public, people other than enthusiasts, but when they sink that low into stereotype, it just leaves me feeling fed up.

To put it bluntly, when I see those kinds of signboard outfits, I feel nothing but disgust and rejection.

A certain bondage enthusiast, upon seeing a woman tied up while wearing plain, everyday clothes, said, “Wow, this is obscene! I can’t help but get aroused when shown such a raw, unadorned sight. It’s obscene!”

This is probably the same sensation Kana-san felt when she was entranced by the sight of Saotome being tied up right before her eyes while still in her everyday clothes.

Everyday clothes represent a very ordinary appearance. Since the world of bondage, an extraordinary realm that shouldn’t exist, unfolds right in the midst of daily life, it’s only natural that it’s so stimulating.

And, if I may say so, the reason I tied up Saotome-san in her everyday clothes before tying you up was because I had a specific plan in mind.

In other words, my plan was to draw your heart into “Nureki Chimuo’s World of Rope” and leave you in a state of ecstasy before tying up you, the main model of this session.

While I was tying up Saotome-san at the beginning, I was casually observing the expression on your face as you watched from right beside me.

You watched quietly from start to finish, maintaining your posture and exuding an air of neatness and refinement.

Your posture at that moment, with your back straight and upright, gave me a very pleasant, refreshing impression.

However, I noticed subtle, gradual changes in the expression on your face as you gazed at Saotome-san, and I was certain of something.

A few days after the event ended, you sent me an email saying, “There was something about it that left me in a state of ecstasy.”

To me, that single line meant more than any flowery praise.

Toward the end of your email you said, “...if I write at length, the lingering feeling might lose its charm, so I’d like to wrap it up here.”

This, too, was a heartfelt and genuine expression. More so than any flowery language, and it made me very happy.

As I’ve written before, I’ve received many different reactions from women, but this was the first time I’d ever heard the expression “the afterglow ceases to be an afterglow.”

It might sound strange coming from me, but I think that’s exactly the genuine feeling it captures. Feelings linger longer when kept unspoken and hidden deep within the heart. That said, come to think of it, we dispersed the moment the meeting ended that day. In hindsight, I do think we could have used some time for a debriefing or to share our thoughts with one another.

During that “Bondage Research Group” event, Director Nakahara of the Sex Industry Museum came to serve as my mentor, and I’m very grateful for her support. That day, it

occasionally turned into a sort of bondage talk show between Director Nakahara and me.t was a fun and relaxed moment that proved very effective. It’s not just about tying and untying the model with rope, moments like those are important, too. That’s because a subtle sense of bondage often comes through in the nuances of conversation.

Since my workplace is nearby, I pop into the Sex Industry Museum quite often.

The museum is currently storing the SM-related materials I’ve collected over the past few decades. I haven’t been able to bring everything over yet, so I’m making frequent trips there. Please come visit the museum sometime.

If you see me there, please don’t hesitate to say hello. Next time, let’s have a leisurely chat over a cup of tea. Let’s talk about the various aspects of bondage that we in the Tomoshibi group idealize while looking through the materials.
