I was asked by “Black Heart” in Ginza, Tokyo, to host an event called “Nureki Chimuo’s Rope Research Society.”

I can’t say I don’t have some reservations about taking on this kind of thing at my age… but the truth is, it was decided because Hiromi Saotome put in a good word for me.

Once Saotome gets involved, I simply can’t refuse.

It’s been over twenty years, believe it or not, since I first started working with her in this industry (though it’s actually been even longer).

It’s often the case with me that I meet people, get along well with them for a while, but eventually grow tired of them, drift apart, and end up cutting all ties.

(Well, most of the time, it’s my fault.)

It’s rare to have a connection that remains unchanged for such a long time, as with Saotome.

Come to think of it, Hiromi Saotome is the only person I address by her first name without any honorifics like this.

No matter how close a relationship becomes, I never address people by their first name. It’s been that way since I was a child.

And yet, even when calling out to her in front of others, I naturally say things like, “Hey, Saotome” without hesitation.

Well, I suppose that just means I’ve let my guard down that much around her.

Living in this complex and troublesome world, we share the same goals and vision.

It’s not often you find companions who share your vision and are driven by the same spirit.

That’s why I’ve formed the group Tomoshibi with Hiromi Saotome, Director Nakahara Rutsu, photographer Yamanouchi, and other like-minded SM enthusiasts, and we’ve published the bondage photo book “The Sunset Room.”

When you think about it (or even without thinking about it), there’s nothing as complex, and at times as bizarre and diverse, as the world of SM.

Although I completely reject it, even making a woman strip naked, spread her legs, and have something inserted between her thighs (which I hate) could, strictly speaking, be called SM.

Even if you don’t order a woman to spread her legs, and she spreads them on her own initiative, depending on how you interpret it, it could still be considered SM.

Well, in a sense, human life, and sexuality itself, could all be considered SM if you look at it that way.

But if I were to go that far, it would be the end of the discussion, so for now, I’m using ropes as my banner.

A banner is a crest, character, or symbol painted on a flag on the battlefield to serve as a landmark. It also refers to the ideals and goals that guide one’s actions.

That said, there’s no need to overcomplicate things with such elaborate interpretations. In short, it simply means I like rope.

Oh, what am I trying to say?

That’s right, I need to write about the “Rope Research Society” event coming up on the second basement floor of a building in Ginza 6-chome.

It’s by reservation only, and limited to 10 people. Hiromi Saotome said she’d be coming, too (or rather, is she the organizer?).

The flyers are already ready and apparently have been placed in the appropriate locations. I’ve only received a fax copy so far.

If you’re interested, please try to find this flyer somewhere first.

For details such as the date and time, or a map to the venue, please check the flyer, give them a call, and ask the staff.

I suppose you could check online, but since I’m still someone who doesn’t own a computer (I don’t even have a cell phone), I’m not very good at providing information that way. Actually, it’s not just that I’m not good at it. I can’t do it at all.

The “Rope Research Society” session will run for three hours, from 1 PM to 4 PM. I’ll ask someone to model for me and demonstrate the secrets of my “bondage” technique.

If anyone would like to be a model, please don’t hesitate to volunteer. Anyone is welcome.

I will not do anything painful to the model. Therefore, if you’re looking for something painful, this group isn’t for you.

I will not undress the model. I will demonstrate the tying techniques while the model remains fully clothed. Therefore, this event is not for those who want to see a woman’s naked body. It’s also not for women who want to get naked.

Instead, I will carefully explain everything I know about ropes and bondage, no matter what the topic. While demonstrating, I’ll take my time and repeat the explanations as many times as necessary.

Of course, participants are free to ask questions about how to tie the ropes.

Even if it’s your first time handling rope, I’ll take your hand and teach you step by step.

I’ve been involved in the production of commercial SM videos about 3,000 times, so if you’re curious about any behind-the-scenes stories from those shoots, please feel free to ask me anything.

I have so much I want to talk about myself, in fact, I’m just itching to get started.

Even things I might accidentally let slip elsewhere, I feel comfortable talking about them here, among a group of people who truly love rope.

In this “Talking Theater” series, I’ve already written quite a bit about my various frustrations with commercial video shoots, but this time, I plan to really let it all out to my fellow rope enthusiasts.
