z_Element was raised with a sense of Japanese aesthetics from the moment her father returned from Okinawa, nine months after she was born. Her interest in the art and history of Japan has never waned. In 2010, shortly after stumbling across a series of photographs of traditional kinbaku ties she began her journey as a rope bottom. In 2011 she met Master “K” and soon after became his assistant and student. She has attended classes with Yakima Haruki (2012) and Akira Naka (2014) in Los Angeles. And In 2013 Master “K” and she co-founded the Spring Tiger Ryu dedicated to "raising awareness of, and nurturing interest in, the art, history, beauty, and safety of Kinbaku - through classes, creative salons, and similar cultural events.”
Kinbaku Today was founded in 2014 to promote kinbaku, the art of Japanese erotic rope bondage, to the Western-speaking world.
Since its inception, Zetsu has served as the founding editor for the site, publishing contributions from authors in the US, Europe, Australia, and Japan.
The goal of the site is to provide a forum where people can read announcements about events, books, and video releases, read interviews with Japanese bakushi and models, study tutorials, view galleries of both Western and Japanese rope artists, and learn more about the history of the art of kinbaku.
